Jeff Mead?

Am I one of the few at these hallowed halls to remember Jeff Mead primarily from TV-am?

Probably. Confused

You mean Geoff Meade, formerly TV-am and currently Sky News man. That war reporter that got shot was the BBC's Martin Bell.

And, as has been said, this programme has only been shown twice -- what about It Shouldn't Happen To A Newscaster which has only been shown once on the pre-ITV1 days around mid-2000.
I can't really remember what the stories were on it, but I do remember them showing Trevor McDonald on the old News At Ten [ITN version] mispronouncing Kent as... a "rude" word.

Bloody hell, that footage of a war reporter getting shot was scary.

Do you mean the guy who was in the Taxi in Afghanistan during the civil war, that being scary anyway, as the Taxi couldn't move and it was getting attacked, with the reporter in question being shot in the face, though he came out okay in the end.
