Nik Gowing was on duty until 20.00. However, it wasn't rolling coverage - they still broadcast their other programmes, such as WBR and Sport Today. At 20.00, they went to The World, as usual, with Kirsty Lang. They spent about 5-10 minutes on the story before going to other news. After The World, there was a recorded programme at 20.30 and Nik Gowing has just returned at 21.00 with World News Today.
Not the best coverage I have ever seen BBC World do. News 24 was better but in the end, I switched over to CNN for their domestic output when BBC World went to other programmes.

Not sure if this was mentioned but at 6 o'clock, Sky ran a strap on Sky One about the shootings.

A big international story and not a big US domestic story?
Big as this is, I can see why they might think it's not that big an international story, and it provides a nice alternative to CNN. I'm quite surprised AJE have done so much on it, although they have ditched their programmes they are covering international news

Well BBC World is the last channel I tune in for breaking news. I don't know what needs to happen for them to suspend their programmes like WBR etc.

I've been scratching my head (as I'm sure many other viewers have too) as to why BBC and Sky have for the last 3 hours been including a still photo in their looped footage of a Chinese-looking man (clearly still alive) being pinned to the ground by a cop, when at the same time all the sources have said the gunman was dead.
No explanation has been put forward for this photo, so maybe they shouldn't have displayed it hundreds of times within their loop. It might just have been the case that this guy was innocent but was pounced on by the cops because of his race.
And did anyone notice at about 7.00pm when Sky very briefly showed a still photo of a naked blood-stained body being carried by four people? It was quite gruesome and I am sure it was a momentary mistake to show it before the watershed.
