Nice to see the Fox News website is as subtle as ever Rolling Eyes

That simple turned my stomach to see. I also notice they're a bit behind on the latest numbers.

The site has actually changed since my initial post. I should have taken a screenshot.

They had 'CAMPUS MASSACRE' in huge letters when I posted, that is what I was initially refering to.

The image seems incredibly inappropiate as well. Still leading with 21 despite the University, over 15 minutes ago, revising that figure.

ABC now claiming 29 + may have been killed.

Truely awful news.

Very strange coverage on Fox News. They had a live camera shot of two news gallery monitors showing a split screen, but it wasn't a static or tripod mounted camera so it was very shaky. Don't know why they couldn't just use a simple graphic split screen.

Yes I saw that, it was if their split screen graphics had all broken. I guess it's a new idea they thought they'd try.

Just had another look, the camera seems to be on a tripod now. How strange!

Could well be the Sheperd Smith programme on Fox that you were watching. In the same style of CNN's "Situation Room", which seemingly took its lead from Sky News Today of the 2002-5 (?) era. They have these large videowalls and rather than use split screens to show a variety of pictures, they prefer to put the split screens on the videowalls and film them.

Example of CNN's attempts here:

It's a very odd and pointless concept, and doesn't make things any easier for a viewer.

AJE saying 32 people dead although stressing unconfirmed, and they spoke to a witness who said a Professor was shot.

BBC News 24 seem to be hiring someone from 7 news a 'local journalist' to do coverage.

I've not seen Sky News, but News 24 are handling the story excellently. They didn't broadcast the weather at the top of the hour but went into the headlines sequence.

Truly awful event - one day they'll ban guns. Rolling Eyes

Indeed. I've been watching bits of Sky and News 24 and it does truly have to be said that News 24 is handling the story excellent, detailed and quick reaction. Matt Frei has been especially insightful and very informative.

But once again, an awful event.

All the news channels seem to have plenty of people to speak to at and around the scene.

Not too much difference between the channels I would say.

Al Jazeera English moved to Riz Khan (though someone else is sitting in) but they are continuing rolling coverage using the call in format.

Without being too heartless, I find it interesting how the Bush Administration finds it ''horrifying'' yet his predecessors did not find things such as the My Lai Massacre disgusting or more recently Abu Ghraib with the torture scandal. And the American government wonders why it is so hated around the world.
