Not presentation related, but it's important to understand what a 'firearms incident' is in police terms. It doesn't necessarily mean a suspect had a firearm, or even the police have used theirs. It's anything assessed by a Tactical Firearms Commander or Operational Firearms Commander as being needed to be dealt with by armed assets. This can include knives, tasers and even incapacitant weapons in the right circumstances.

I say that as BBC News were hammering it home earlier on about it being a firearms incident.

LL is shameful. Yes this story has national and international implications but this is still for all intents and purposes a local story. A London story. They can cover this story from so many angles.....street closures, transport closures, hospitals with local knowledge. But again a big story on their own patch gets nothing immediately. 5pm is too late. Most will have already changed over or turned away. Again this is a channel with the backing of a newspaper. Its not like they dont have major news gathering component at their disposal. You'd think theyd be nimble of enough to get something on air quickly.

ABC News 24 in Australia using BBC World coverage (I think they play out BBC World overnight anyway though)

While I can't imagine anyone will actually be watching, this is indeed very poor - by the time they go on air, the incident will have happened two hours ago.

ITV special extended to 6pm, displacing both Tipping Point and The Chase for the day.

Right decision by ITV.

STV Glasgow/edinburgh has now stop its broadcast and has switched to Take the high road. There were directing people to STV

Yes and lots of the anti-gun control mob stateside trying to jump on this to prove that gun control doesn't work.

I do have to question some of the pics AL J and RT have been broadcasting.

4G link to New Scotland Yard on Sky News, which moved to Victoria Embankment recently with really poor PQ. Not surprising.

ITV scrapping tonight's Nightly Show for news.

Spare a thought for those that have been stuck on the London Eye until now - only just started allowing guests to disembark.
