Well, the biggest floods for half a century are predicted within the next 48 hours.

The Thames Barrier is to be closed about now. As usual Sky News are reporting rolling coverage of potential effects. BBC N24 have reporters around potential areas at risk.

Floodline number is 0845 988 1188

Damn - You beat me to it!

Anywho looks like flooding could do some damage. Not nice being flooded, sandbagging does help but it doesn't stop the water. I hope they don't do lots of damage.

Sky News must have been at least a good half hour ahead of N24 when i was watching earlier.

Sky were on rolling coverage with JT while N24 carried the six o clock news from BBC ONE and then continued on with Entertainment 24(which is an appaling programme).

These are becoming far too regular. As much as I dislike the politicians jumping on the global warming bandwagon, we have to consider whether these are natural long-term climatic cycles or something related to human activity.

Either way we have to adapt, and it is fortunate that even if we don't have the necessary flood defences at least we have the warnings.

It's got nothing to do with climate. It's just meteorology, bad timing and fluid mechanics Smile In time, of course, you could get away with linking it to sea level rise.

Yes, thanks for providing that. The first place I think of turning to when my home is at risk of flooding is TV Forum.

Why not? Hey, you could do a spin off: "FloodForum.co.uk", only then people might start talking about TV programs Shocked
