Can somebody explain the extent of ITNs involvement. e.g. do they do all the graphics, reports and everything like that or is that done at setanta's end and fed down to ITN.

ITN produce the programmes on the channel under the Setanta brand. Not sure where the channel (i.e. the adverts and promo breaks) is produced from but it's not the same place as the other Setanta channels

It seems that ITN does have an editorial role. This is taken from their website:

Er yes, ITN productions do very little apart from 'editorial'!

What i dont understand is why they didnt use the same set-up graphics wise as has been seen on "Football Saturday" before the 5.15 matches this season. It was alot easier on the eye.

Alex and Ashley have just spoken to two football fans in the last 5 minutes, one Aberdeen and one Spurs. Even Alex couldn't stop herself from laughing when she had to say "Send us a picture of yourself in your teams colours" It seems quite ITV-ish, with all these "Citizen Correspondents" etc.

Looks like they're supposed to be in widescreen as well.

Definately a better layout, but far too yellow a colour scheme!

BTW, do Setanta produce their own sports coverage or is it done by independent producers such as Sunset + Vine, TWI etc.?

P.S. Where's Rob's caps gone?

And I though Bloomberg used to have far too much irellivent text parked all over the screen.. Rolling Eyes

Its essentially Bloomberg for sports fans (but if that's the case, does that make Sky Sports News CNBC?!?!) But its worse, theres things going on on three sides of the screen at once. No one has the eyes to follow that much information! The screen is simply too busy and needs to be thought about more by the graphics design team.

Could there be some rights issue why the ITN produced news channel can't run those Setanta graphics?

I doubt it. Be interesting to see what Setanta do tomorrow afternoon - they've got "Setanta Sports News" scheduled on their main channel from 3pm, which suggests they'd use their graphic set up rather than these.
