Should that read, "I would normally agree with you, but I, Anne fronted BBC Scotland's UK election coverage in 2005."?

Are you Anne, then?

Lol - no I am Christine Stuart during the week and Christine Stuart at the weekend

It's a shame to see how poorly resourced STV are these days. The BBC was the only channel to properly cover the recent party conferences with live coverage and live opts into News 24. STV only managed one short report on Scotland Today, despite one of the conferences taking place at the Glasgow science centre - right next to their studios!

Wonder what the Beeb will be putting on the website? STV isn't renowned for web content, but their coverage so far seems to be a series of links elsewhere. Poor show. Mind you, I don't care for Bernard 'Orange Tan' Ponsonby anyway so I doubt I'll be keeping track of STV.

It's all practically in the hands of the SNP now anyway. I can't quite believe it all.

But if the other conferences weren't so convenient for them to cover they couldn't just do the one next door and not the others for reasons of bias and impartiality.

I am sure that the BBC will be properly resourced for the election mainly due to their budget. STV cannot match this.
As for being related to Moira Stuart or having links with Anne Mackenzie or getting quirky signed photos from any celebrity journalists - I aint so interesting. I do know some journalists though who are fantastic at their profession - just like Anne.
Radio Scotland are also featuring an impressive line up in election coverage.

I've just heard from a mate that Anne Mackenzie is fronting network coverage for the Scottish Elections - co-presenting this with David Dimblebey. This is to be airred on BBC One.

Why would we in scotland need to know about the English council election and Vise vera

I am surprised at this myself - but they must feel that it is worth covering down south?

I would imagine England will get a programme covering the English council elections results with updates from Scotland (very relevant to the English - if SNP win it could mean the break up of the Union!) and Scotland will get its own programme.

Could be smgboi.
My mate who works in BBC Scotland says that she is presenting along side David Dimbleby. So it may mean Anne is in London rather than Scotland?
Even if the SNP win, it does not mean that independence will follow the election. It all depends if the voters are protesting at the Executive or protesting at the union (however that its a completely different discussion).
I am confused at why they would have segments about a Scottish Election within a council election programme though. I am also confused as to why this is on BBC One in England, as I did not realise council elections were so big down south.

I'm aware of that. However, the media likes to make people think that the SNP getting in 'could mean your children will die'. So, I would imagine that England will have a vote 07 show with local council results but David will occasionally mention that 'north of the border' people are voting in the Scottish Parliament elections. How are they doing? Here's Ann Mackenzie to tell us. That kind of thing. With a patrionising Anne telling the English viewers how the Union could come to a horrible end, etc, etc.

Hmm..all very pointless though as the First Minister has just signed another deal prolonging the UK and Scots parliaments working together - yet the media didn't really cover it.
