I have just seen a BBC Press Release saying that The Scottish Election will be hosted by Glenn Campbell, Brian Taylor and Jackie Bird.
Reporting Scotland will have an election battle bus during the campaign. Sally Magnusson, Jackie and David Robertson will be on board this.
Gordon Brewer will be hosting Newsnight Scotland's coverage and Anne Mackenzie will be interviewing the leaders in a 3x50 mins series of debating programmes.
Surely this is a smack in the face for Anne - relegated to the bottom of the heap in BBC Scotland's election coverage!

Interviewing the leaders is hardly the bottom of the barrel, Paxman gets that job for the Westminster elections.

I would normally agree with you, but I Anne fronted BBC Scotland's UK election coverage in 2005. It must be a slap in the face to be the queen pin in 2005 and then get this in 2007.
Election night is the jewel of any hustings coverage.

Should that read, "I would normally agree with you, but I, Anne fronted BBC Scotland's UK election coverage in 2005."?

Are you Anne, then?

From STV's website it looks like Scottish 500 has been scrapped and replaced with Scotland Decides - much the same sounding idea, but probably a little better - Scottish 500 for all its heritage was never that great! The first live programme is this Sunday with as they describe them 'the big 4' - basically the biggest party leaders taking part in a debate. Sounds like this year (despite Scotland's TV industry being in an awful state) coverage could actually be fairly good across the board
