yes they need to develop a stronger perfomance during the afternoon, for example having Lucy Alexander and Chris Rogers from 1:30 till 4:00


Or as I said before, have one pair from 1.30-3pm, with them returning for the 4-5.30pm slot. Felicity Barr would host from 5.30pm, while at 3pm have "Live at Three" - a flagship hour of news with live interviews with correspondants, presented by the big names from ITV News. Alistair Stewart, Nicholas Owen and Katie Derham would join Mary Nightingale in being regular hosts of this shift.


If the forthcoming revamp leads to the News Channel getting it's own studio (rather than being axed!), the afternoon schedule should be able to flow alot better without the need for studio switching ahead of the ITV1 bulletins.


Some good ideas you have developed there but as it has already been mentioned it does come down to how much money ITV are willing to invest into the NC, if they invest money then they can show how to be the news channel breaking news for Britain

It is going to be very interesting to see how scotts show is going to develop, lets hope that it will have time to become a good and the one to watch morning news programme

I have to say i'm really enjoying the Scott Chisholm show. It would be good to have jeremy batstone and live weather as well. I really think it would be a good idea to simulcast the gmtv news hour on the nc. Or start the Scott Chisholm show earlier. Scott is just what the news channel needs.

At the moment the out of all the news channels the itvnc has probably the best output. They desperately need to sort out 1.30 onwards. I mean do they want the 3pm hour to be 'special' every day...

Worst of all on itn.co.uk - Nearly every show is wrong - and is it really a good idea to promote the joyce ohajh hour!!!!

lol there are loads of errors on that site, such as the freeview channel number but I particularly like this one:

There should be an actual offical website which should promote the itv news channel and its presentation style, they have not even put scott's show on it yet.

I really think it's time for itvnc to push it's regional coverage. I would love to see a programme anchored in the same way as World Business report...

The Scott Chisholm Show what a waste of time getting him in and then saying he does not have a job for long, its appauling itv have lost my respect now, especially at a time when their presentation on screen was getting better

I hope Scott's show moves to ITV2 or 3.

I moved back to the NC from Sky News Sunrise when he started.

I dont think they will keep scotts show because Gmtv are not going to be pleased about having airtime being taken away from them

Sorry no what i mean is if scotts show would stay then it would mean gmtv give up air time
