I found the first hour quite interesting. It reminded me a little of the Daily Show on More4! I like the interaction between him and his guest - especially as the guest is allowed to ask other guests questions (if that makes sense!) However they really could do with someone doing news summaries.

Also the main gripe that causes us to moan about the itvnc i.e. the wierd 11.45am slot has been filled! 11.45 - 12 - 'Feedback'! I wonder what other changes have been made to the rest of the day.

Loving the background when scott is doing headlines.

Like the new-look Sunrise, they've cut the story count drastically. A shame, as it doesn't feel like such a comprehensive news service.

Maybe it's because of the focus on the fire, but they haven't used any of the GMTV reporters either.

Also the regulars like Jeremy Batstone have been dropped.

Still, will be interesting to see how it develops.

Just a phone-in, basically. Some caps coming soon.

Alastair's on Lunchtime News duty, so it was John Nicholson. The only change was that the 10am summary was done by the overnight presenter (Sian Jones), and the 11am summary was read by Leyla Daybelge.

Scott Chisholm? Isn't he the guy who famously (on Sky News) used to read the news wearing his shorts behind the desk, but shirt, tie and jacket on the upper half?

By jove, I think I am right.

It will be interesting to see what has happened to lucy alexander... maybe with the new Nightly News, Felicity may ditch the 4-5.30 shift...
Am I right in saying there is only dual presentaton between 2 and 5.30 now...?
I think having just one presenter is fine as long as you have a sports/weather/business presenter in the studio at times.

If the news channel were to revert to a 1 presenter only format I think we would see the following

7am - THe Scott Chisholm Show
10am - Live with Alasdair Stewart
11.45am - Scott Chisholm Extra
1.30pm - Lunchtime News Extra - Nicholas Owen
2pm - News @ 2 - Leyla Deybelge
3pm - News @ 3 - Mary Nightingale
4pm - News @ 4 - Leyla Deybelge
5pm - News @ 5 - Leyla Deybelge
6pm - News @ 6 - Leyla Deybelge
7pm - Evening News Extra - Mark Austin
8pm -News @ 8 - Felicity Barr
9pm - News @ 9 - Felicity Barr

They only need 2 News channel presenters a day then.

I saw a bit of this today - as I said before the domination of one story was always going to mean we weren't getting the programme it will eventually become.

Like the graphics, though the main square could be a bit bigger - but agree they need a second presenter at least for news summaries.

Be interesting to see how they do the Alistair Stewart summaries - Leyla is currently on Lunchtime News duty so does it mean one Lunchtime News presenter will read the bulletins each day.

It's good to see they've tried something with the 11.45pm slot - always an awkward time to switch studios (by the way, didn't Andrew Harvey used to do it from the London studio!).

It's the afternoons they need to sort now. I think they should have one pairing from 1.30-3pm and 4-5.30pm, with the Evening News presenter doing the 3pm hour as now.

Bring Felicity in at 5.30pm for an hour, then for Evening News Extra, and move News Network to 7.30pm to follow ENE.

Mark Austin should host for an hour at 8pm, with the London Tonight presenter in from 9-10.30pm, with Felicity Barr doing a sports bulletin at 9.45pm while the LT host switches studios.
