I really don't see the conflict. It's certainly no worse than Christa Hackroyd having her booby-doos enlarged and then talking about it on Look North.
Nor is Claire reading the news any different to Moria Stuart reading the news - both from acting backgrounds.
Whilst (as Lewis says) there may be bad feeling in the newsroom towards those that appointed her, I really don't understand why Claire is subject to such vitriol on this forum.

All i am saying is she is not suited to reading news.
She looks very uncomfortable and as i said before.She doesn't covey an understanding about what she is reading .I think she looks fantastic and would great as a light weight TV Presenter .I think in news you have to have some credibility .A weekly colum in the Glasgow Evening Times does NOT make her a Journalist .

how do they produce it? surely it can't be pre-recorded - given the fuss ofcom made about the re-recorded central news east bulletin. is it read by the announcer (presuming they have an announcer in at that time?) or do they make the gmtv newsreader get in about 40 minutes earlier than their colleagues in england do?
The Grampian bulletin is live, and read by the same journalist who does the GMTV slots. The staff arrive around 4 a.m., except when they sleep in . The continuity at that time is recorded by the announcer the previous evening.

She's not that bad. At least she's a familiar face, and all that. Better the devil you know etc. Anyway, surely everyone realised she left Real Radio when they got a funky new jingle.
