To be honest I think at the end of a N24 shift they ought to say 'that's it from us for now and the news continues here on N24 with ... and ... but from us it's goodbye' and then have the N24 half hour sting before the weather.
As for at the TOTH I always think that they should have the aerial shot after the titles and then have the normal single presenter camera with the presenter saying 'good morning/afternoon/evening, it's [time] on [day] the [date] of [month]; I'm [name]' before beginning with the main story and the usual TOTH camera looking across the desk of the presenter on one side of the screen.

He doesn't do it any more - as he's on itv news channel during the daytime - but I liked Owen Thomas on the Morning News who didn't just say good bye, but also hoped we'd have a "great day". Oh, those were the days.. those early mornings with Owen and Sharon... now who's we've got?

Can somebody start a news presenter catchphrase thread?
On a similar vein Natasha K always says to people who she's interviewing 'so hello to you so and so. Moira always says 'that's all from me back to dermot and natasha'. Moira also says a very high pitched 'thank you' when Natasha does the handover link to her and i'm not sure if it's sarcastic as Natasha says the link to Moira very quickly and in a high pitched voice so Moira kinda tries to go even higher when she says 'thank you' in return.
Does anyone else thing Jules Botfield is a fab reporter?? why she isn't used a bit more is beyond me. I wish the bbc would put jezza vine back on the mainstream channel he was ace
