I haven't really watched any NC's today, so I can't say, but I caught More4 News and they were giving an interesting aspect to it, as they were showing it (in true old BBC3 News style) how the Trial was being covered on NC's in the Middle East, going from one Iraqi News Channel where the reporter was anti-Saddam to one where they had (I believe it was) Saddam's doctor on the phone to an Iranian News Channel.
Though the main Trial itself isn't until the middle of November, it's probably why it has felt so low key today.

Yes,I beleive when it properly kicks off I beleive they'll be alot more coverage.
One interesting point someone mentioned the other day, Are they (the media) intending on covering his execution, which now seem inevidtable, although his defence team, from my limitied legal knowledge has mounted a good defence.

Although it seems common practice to have public executions in Middle Eastern countries (especially Iran & Saudi Arabia) I doubt whether the main western news organisations would show it. However, I expect it will be freely available on the internet for the more gory viewer
Does anyone know what the current method of execution is under the new Iranian Constitution? I would expect it to be something rather instant and humane like "lethal injection" or "firing squad" since it was developed with the advice of the Coalition partners. I would not expect them to use some fundamentalist Islamic style execution such as "stoning".
