Russia Today seems to have a new look now.

The straps remind me of old Sky News however on RT they're still colour coded relating to the segment.

Weather music is much better than the previous although it flicks through the cities way too fast.

Green isn't really the best colour to go with all that bright orange..RT has never been the most attractive channel. It's alright but not outstanding, the titles are OK but the graphics themselves aren't.

Hrmm, I preferred the old puzzle pieces titles.

EDIT: In the weeks running up to the rebrand, I noticed they started saying "RT" in the place of "Russia Today"

Perhaps trying to make it a less russian orientated channel.

It's a pity that they've appeared to have lost/reduced the globe motif - I thought it worked quite well for them.

Everything is too big and colourful for my liking. I'm not a big fan of these.

i just hope that channel can improve their objectivity and credibility, i liked RT since it started, but their election coverage and coverage on certain issues on human rights in Russia is less to be desired.

i think RT is government owned...
the channel is owned by RIA-Novosti... isn't it?

It is 'sponsored' by RIA-Novosti. The idea is to 'reflect' Russia's opinion in the world although it's been said they're somewhat less willing to criticise the Kremlin or run stories that portray Russia in a negative light. I think there was someone who said it was basically olde-style propaganda.

The concept of a free press is not an idea that would seem to be particularly popular with the Russian government.

and Iran too...
because of that 1951 thing (before the Iranian Revolution) which US infiltrated the Iranian media... according to Listening Post.
