Royal Television Society has unveiled it's nominations for 2021, as below. Because they cover a range of topics and networks, I thought it might be better having a separate thread to discuss.

Winners to be announced 24 February.

I think it would be nice for CNN's John King and ITV's Charlene White and Robert Moore to win.
They stand out to me. John's (and CNN in general) election coverage was great and Robert's reporting on the insurrection was very good.
I would like to see CNN International win the "channel of the year". Sky and BBC presentation is becoming stale, although there has been some great journalism on all 3 channels.

Special reports from Covid wards by Fergus Walsh, and separately from the States about election issues by Clive Myrie were "sit up and watch" moments on News at Ten for me (as well as Hugh Pym's explainers) so I hope the programme gets recognised.

(I know I dissed the BBC News advert in another thread, but the 10pm news is still an excellent flagship in my view)

The network presenter of the year is interesting, snubbing the big names. If Huw were to ever leave the Ten though I think Clive Myrie would be by far the best choice to take the lead role.

Clive Myrie praising John King.

BR
Brekkie
Clive inadvertently dissing Victoria there then, although as Clive and John praise each other Victoria has posted a thread of her "best bits".

What period do these nominations cover?

Not sure. Well hopefully not November and December, when she was stuck in a castle!
