The BBC won 10 categories, compared with 4 for ITV; 1 for Channel 4; and 1 for Sky so I think it can be said it was the BBC's night at the awards ...
The beeb got the following :-

The Home News Award - Newsnight
News Event - The Ten O'Clock News and Panorama for Darfur.

[quote="nwtv2003" Owen Thomas just said then, followed by....

"You're watching the award-winning ITV News Channel, the Pope has had an operation.......................we'll be back in a few minutes" Laughing[/quote]

Well no doubt there'll be endless promos congratulating themselves on the one story they managed to cover to a decent standard last year! How exactly can it be said that the actual channel is award winning if it was the correspondant who won the award? Suppose that is the strange world of the ITVNC! Wink

I see Sky got News Channel of the Year, *again*. How many years is that now?

Wonder if Burley will show the award off on air as previously....

These awards should be televised. The RTS Awards seems brilliant, by the sounds of it.
