Well I remember last year Martin Popplewell revealed on Sky News they'd won it, and I'm sure that it was near to 10pm. We'll soon know if they've won it, that breaking news ticker will be put right into action!

Sky are once again News Channel of the Year.
Congratulations.

Methinks a little financial backhand from Mr. Murdoch was arranged. Whether it was by cheque or cash is a different matter... Laughing

After decisions like this, it really does make you wonder whether the judges at the RTS are sorely pissed or just intent on losing the prestigeousness of the society.

Makes a mockery of the Awards. For the same channel to have won it for so many times, despite being so terrible, is ridiculous.

The only thing Sky have going for them is that they put any reports, confirmed or otherwise, on air quicker than anyone else. This is obviously all the RTS care about.

News 24 must be pissed off. I'm happy for Sky, although their presentation has gone downhill.

I hope this gives them courage to change things a bit.

Yeah right, they so deserved it. Can't think why at the moment, but I'm sure it'll come to me. No, perhaps it won't.

I never NEVER said they deserved it. I was merely expressing deep shock and euphoria when I read they'd won it.

Why are you happy that they won if you don't think they deserved it?

Look you have to make the distinction between the management and the general workers.

I know alot of the people there after many a year there myself, as a friend I'm happy for them, as I know that they are doing the very best that they can within the parameters of Ryley's edicts. As far as I'm concerned they deserve it, if certain people do not. End of.

What utter tosh! It's not News Channel 'workers' (if you can call working in an office work?) of the Year? If they work for sh*t managers then that's their hard luck.

CNN should have won it. Why isn't it nominated???????

May be, may be I look at these things through rose-tinted eyes, I dunno. But I don't really care tbh, go rest your eyes it's gone 11.

That decision is ridiculous. There is no way Sky News is news channel of the year, content or presentation wise.
