Its unlikely, the whole thing is simply designed to provide streaming of live events via RTE.ie. Its not really a news channel as such.
However, to draw some actual news, this made the front page of the Irish Times today - RTÉ's been forced by NBC to drop all live streaming to viewers outside ROI for the duration of the Olympics...

It said that the reasoning behind the restrictions amounted from "pure greed and hubris". So you could say it was less kind alright
