Claire Byrne Live has a new look to it's programme tonight. I have seen a preview of it before tonight's Nine O'Clock News.

There is a new night-time skyline of Dublin on the new flat screens. It's a view of the Grand Canal in Dublin. It looks good from what I have seen so far. The programme's logo appears in a new font. It's looks like it's coloured white with hints of navy blue/charcoal/black background with red stripes.

The new look Claire Byrne Live will begin on RTÉ One tonight at 9:35pm.

The studio looks very good with it's red, white & blue. There is a new DOG on the bottom right of the screen along with new lower thirds.

Looks great.

Staff from RTÉ News & Current Affairs have made a formal apology this evening for not complying with social distancing guidelines.

A short farewell event was held at Montrose last week for one of it's staff members who was celebrating her last day of working with the broadcaster. Six big names from RTÉ News & Current Affairs were involved with having photographs taken with the staff member on her last day of work. They were Jon Williams, David McCullagh, Miriam O'Callaghan, Eileen Dunne, Paul Cunningham & Bryan Dobson.

David McCullagh made a formal apology about his errors at the event on the Six-One News, while he was presenting it with Catriona Perry, earlier this evening.

Here is Bryan Dobson's quoted statement on the News at One on RTÉ Radio 1.

"I'm sorry to everyone who has sacrificed so much in recent months and lost loved ones. To those that are living with the after effects of the infection and to those who have lost their jobs, livelihoods or businesses, and to those who have been isolated from family and friends.

"On this programme we have vigorously debated Covid-19 measures, but what is not disputed is that each of us should make every effort to observe the restrictions in place.

I'd be very concerned if any actions of mine undermined that vital lifesaving public health advice,"

Does leader’s questions adapt the same titles and music?

Looking good. The previous look was awful with its large serif font graphics, and the theme music no longer worked once the famous political quotes that were originally spoken over it were removed.

The new theme tune for TWIP is the same or very similar to the theme tune from last years general election coverage https://youtu.be/FuaKooWGq4s - check out from 24.18 intro theme sting from ad break.

TWIP no longer has its own lower thirds - just the normal RTE News ones.
