That second one is a real feckup - I thought that Gerald is always speeding through all of the maps don't giving a chance to have a closer look what's going on them. Seems it's too slow anyway. Very Happy

PS Milktrolley - Cead mile maith agat (heard a mix like that some time ago on Nuacht RTE, hope I've remembered it properly)

Haven't heard that one before, sounds nice though. Fadbh ar bith Very Happy

The second one there happens considerably often, or at least it used to, as the bulletins are timed. If they run out of time, there's no leeway.

Major error on today's News with Signing - the autocue froze halfway through, leaving poor Siún having to request that they take the story once more from the top, and completely conflustering Jean O'Reilly. I'll post the link later on, when it becomes available.

As posted by sstepski: You can watch the entire show (2:56), or just the feckup (0:24).
Or you can try this link: Scroll to 8:20. Not the first time that's happened either.

Siun has been on a long shift today - Cinnlinte Nuacht on RTE ONE at 1.20pm this afternoon, and she did the late RTE ONE news just now at 11.20pm.

Wished us all "oiche mhaith" as well.

No way to retrieve the Late News this evening - it was preceded by a movie. Sad Why the hell they don't store ALL of the news bulletins online... do they have only one Jonathan Lundberg to compile SMIL files and indexing there?

I seen the promo for the Nine O Clock news tonight...the one done from the gallery, and I noticed on the screens that the studio-walls was almost a blue colour with all the lights off...

Why cant they do something along the lines of having a navy/blue colour for the Nine just to make it stand out?

Someone put Siun in this evenings Six One Smile and Bryan Dobson presented the One News - a little bit strange, but great, especially the first one. Very Happy Besides, wrong closing theme was used on the end of One. Nine News will be presented by Anne Doyle (at least Siun said so...).

Sorry I've put no links, but I'm busy with Christmas preparations. Smile A very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year for all of you here. Good evening.

RTE had to be very tired this Christmas Day, absolutely no news posted, no articles, no bulletins, no nothing! Sad

In the 25 Dec Six One (unindexed, posted the RTE website because of my e-mail to the newsroom) an unusual closing screen can be seen - with three textbars displaying at once.

The same thing happens with Aertel every year - no updates on Christmas Day - in fact I remember one year they pratically closed the service for Christmas Day.

There were (rather shortish) news bulittens on TV.

A terrible bulletin just now – none of the sport reports played at all except for the 1st one which froze on-screen for about 10 seconds and Colm Murray had to really ad-lib his way through his part of the programme. Ever since the relaunch this has been happening on a regular basis. They are obviously having major issues with their equipment - at this rate I think they shouldn’t have changed over to server output at all since they’re not capable of using it properly. They probably do have a skeleton crew working today but that is not an acceptable excuse for this carry-on. I could go on and on and on and on until the cows come home but old habits really do seem to die hard with that crowd in RTE…Rolling Eyes

I trust sstepski or MilkTrolley will post the link when available!

Six One News - 27 Dec 2006
- General news presented by Susan Byrne
- The great sport feckup presented by Colm Murray

This really makes me sick - RTE! Wake up! It's almost 2007 here, on Earth...

A bonus from your local cock-up hunter - Cinnlinte Nuachta was accidentaly improved by a piece of weather forecast. Does RTE News shares the autocue machines with the weather department?

Cinnlinte Nuachta - 17 Feb 2006
- You can watch the entire show (1:45)
Scroll to 1:05, the feckup is too short to create a special link
