Does RTE do a preview of the 1 O'Clock from the studio at any point? Or do they do a quick 1230 update? This may be our first chance to see the new set.

They've just had a quick bulletin, with a short version of the new titles! I still have no idea what they are, but they appear to be a more polished version of those seen in the Autumn preview. It's far to early for a verdict, but they look... interesting.

Unfortunately no preview of the set, the bulletin appeared to be from the broom cupboard with a new brown background. The old blue DOG remained though. The bulletin was completely unannounced and caught me by surprise, so I didn't notice whether or not it was widescreen. I don't think it was though.

Is anyone able provide caps of the relaunch for those international tv forumers like me who are interested in this relaunch!!

I'm now watching a particularly depressing episode of Dr. Phil and can't help noticing how well the brown and blue set looks. It would be nice if there were elements of blue in the new news set.

The titles are HIDEOUS - is this some sort of joke?!
Okay, we only saw a brief glimpse on the news summary, but if that is anything to go by, we're in for a rough ride...

Otheriwse the broom cupboard background looked great, if a bit too close to the camera as the texture of the canvas/board was too in-focus.
Lighting and composition superb - flawless.

But god those titles....

What are the titles supposed to be? Im sure Ill get a clearer picture when the actual programme is on (I hope!) but as it stands right now Im very confused

This is wierd... those titles look nothing like the yacht-masts I thought they were... it looks like something out of a confused teenager's 3D drawings. It's wierd... I like the background, but what's with the 'old' DOG?? Why are we seeing this so late?

I cannot believe RTE are going for those titles... look at the centre logo... it's all out of shape and proportion with the rest of it!!

Jesus... it better be all rounded off for the Six

Oh dear. Whats with the titles? I hope the rest isn't like that.

This is weird to say, but The "old" Titles were way better even if they were just stripes and bars flickering around with nubers here and there. Did they keep the music?

I can't wait to hear the publicity blurb for this.

Hopefully a longer version of the titles in the 1pm programme will help us understand what's going on.
