It was missing from today's One as well, but that had more to do with the fact that it started jumping around like before about a minute into the bulletin

RTE One Presentation is adding the 'RTE News' DOG at the moment - that's why it's going down over the black bar at the bottom (see RTE One late news). The Studio 3-generated DOG experienced problems early in the bulletin and was removed.

It's back tonight on Six One. I'm watching on analogue and part of the DOG covers the black line at the bottom (ie the picture is 14:9 but the logo reaches the bottom of my 4:3 screen)
Maybe it's being added by RTE One presentation:?:

This is how I think the DOGs should be done:
In the position of the RTE ONE and RTE TWO DOGs, either with the black background and orange strip at the edge:

The generic RTÉ ONE DOG was in place for some of the Six-One last night and appeared in stretchy-vision on digital. It didn't look too bad on the news, nice and transparent as always.
The DOG was in place for the first three minutes of tonight's Six-One but started going crazier than i've ever seen before. It was removed eventually but it's back now.

I know it's not RTÉ, but my Youtube travels threw up some interesting videos on TV3.

This one's an old morning update with Brian Daly back in days when they came from the Newsroom. Presentation-wise it's interesting to take a look at, although it was uploaded because two staff members can be clearly seen messing around in the background.

This one's more recent and shows Jerome Hughes on the receiving end of a four-lettered outburst outside the Coroner's Court in Dublin. On the upside, the gallery team did well to take the link down as quick as they did - those infamous 16 seconds on the Late Late spring to mind...

They launched a couple of digital radio stations a couple of weeks back, all 100% automated of course! Television stations... I don't think RTÉ now have any concrete plans for any digital only stations, the plans they had some years ago have been scrapped.
As for RTÉ International - the legislation for this was enacted in April but still no word. RTÉ very publically said (or hinted loudly) that they didn't want to do it unless they were given extra licence fee money / grant in aid from the Exchequer to do it, and if they were otherwise compelled to do (ie by said Broadcasting (Amendment) Act 2007), they would do it on a go-slow basis (as in, very-slowly-our-hearts-not-really-in-it movement). In otherwords, don't expect to see it today or tommorow.
