Guess what I've just found!!!

Have a look at this RTSP file:
January 26, 2004

It's the Nine O'Clock bulletin, but begins with the end of Six-One. Remarkably, it shows what happens in the studio when presentation cuts to the weather. This continues for a few seconds before abruptly cutting to the Nine News.
At 12:30, the file shows Anne Doyle fixing her hair and make-up during the ad break. At the end of the bulletin {26:28}, VTs are rewound briefly, and I don't think there's anything after that - the file runs for another 24 minutes.

The quality of it is very poor compared to other bulletins of this time - clearly it was taken from the gallery instead of off the air. I wonder are there many more classic files that have all this left in?

Meanwhile, Sharon invites us to watch the Six-One all over again, because it's that damn good:

Yeah she does!

But look at the damn graphic of the website promo - its of the RTE homepage, not the news homepage

Plonkers!

Evil or Very Mad

Who cares there anyway?

I care - cos if you promo something then the right thing should be on the screen surely? No? I thought that if you wanted to talk about a burger you would not put up a graphic of fries or chicken? If they wanted to promo the RTE website then fine, but they were promoting the RTE news website. Sure if we didn't care then Sky could just do the top three hits on the BBC news website so. For Christ sake, this forum is for commenting on things and I was commentingm and just cos you didn't care, doesn't mean it wasn't worth a comment on.

You care? Um... are you from the RTE? I meant the RTE by 'there', not the people here, in TVForum Very Happy

Apologies for the misinterpretation there. I thought you were saying who cares about the point I'd make. I'm suitably smacked!

I'd love to know what they were saying at the end of Six One. They look so busy until the second the music stops!

Hey, maybe a contest - who will figure out the most funny dialogue between the newscasters for that occasion? Very Happy

Maybe they're talking about who won the bet from earlier - how many feck-ups there'd be that night.

Well there was at least two on tonight's Six-One. I didn't see the whole programme, there could have been more.

36:50 Audio channel missing
54:38 Financial news menu delay

So what are the odds of a feck up tonight?

Tonight's Six-One.

34:45 Audio channel levels on Adrian Lydon's report. If the opening shot (where the sounds at its worst) lasted another few seconds I'm certain they would have pulled the plug.

Watching the match on TV3 now. They're actually rearranging their scoreline and DOG graphics on-air. The DOG started over on the top-right, now they've moved it over to the top-left and integrated it with the scoreline strap. But as they made the manoeuvre, they cut to the holding screen where the image is black other than the DOG.

EDIT: The clocks just after restarting itself from 00:00. Several minutes later, it hasn't been restored.

Today's One O'Clock:

17:55 Audio channel missing. Note Aengus carries on like all was well.
From 22:09, the aspect ratio was changed to 4:3 in error, although it doesn't appear on this file.

As far as we know, it's the second time in four days that an channel has been missing - the third if you include yesterday evening's problem with the levels.

Maybe Milktrolley should only post when there isn't a feckup.....

I'd have a lot less work to do anyway, that's for sure!

Actually though, Six-One was great presentation wise, and Bryan and Sharon looked a lot more confident for it. Everything kicked in exactly when it was meant to - a pleasure to watch for the most part.

Content-wise though, John Delaney, FAI CEO, was interviewed. As Bryan attempted to stop him waffling, Delaney uttered "excuse me", at 30:10 . It was replayed in the sports news, minus Bryan's voice, so it looks funny when seen again at 47:10 . Paddy McKenna's report at 48:58 had to be taken from News2day. It was so awful.

Sometimes it looks like more effort goes into News2day than the real bulletins - and there are never any feck-ups!
