Have you noticed that the RTE Nine O'clock News had a little different opening? The camera made a slight move to the left after the caption?

The rotating camera would look OK if there was actually anything else going on in the studio, but the plasma isn't even used that often so it just exposes the fact that they couldn't afford a backdrop that went the whole way around the studio!
Also the backdrop in the broom cupboard has started to look more convincing during the daytime, but if they're going to go to the effort of using CSO, why don't they add a view of the newsroom? The daytime updates used to come live from the newsroom, and it's not as if we're going to miss the brown yoke...
A new old cock-up found by me in the RTE News archive:
2nd January 2004, RTE One O'Clock News, presented by John Finnerty:
The titles were put on-air too early You can watch the entire show

Thats quite a nice movement actually but I suspect that it was accidental. It looks a bit wobbly!

Miscommunication between pres and the gallery methinks.
Today's One O'Clock:
12:05 Graphics cock-up, keep an eye on the top-right.
The LIVE one could slot in above the top of the DOG, in any case they really haven't given it a lot of thought, seeing as how they introduced it recently without making provisions for having the two on together, which they need to be.
17:05 Communication problems between the gallery and the floor it seems. Still happens...

If only they let it develop under the bed for an extra second or so... It is nice though.
As for Anne Cassin last night, at least it was something that the unsuspecting viewer wouldn't notice, although I imagine they used the moments off-air beforehand to their advantage. Having said that though, there's been way more small things than usual over the past week or so, have we another glorious cock-up in our midst over the next few days?
Does nayone know why RTE has not created a breakfast news programme. All that is on RTE's main channel in the mornings around 7am is repeats of Neighbours and Dallas. Shouldn't a national public service broadcaster provide such a service?? I think so at least.
Well the TellieTubbies are on RTE Two but that's a bit advanced for my liking...
Yes there definately should be a breakfast show on RTE but if you think about it the Beeb have only had early morning TV for 25 years so RTE would be breaking record by following the BBC that quickly!

TellieTubbies for breakfast? You must be joking. Personally I vomit when I see them.
sstepski, you know he's only joking In fairness, RTÉ do put effort into children's TV, but it'd be nice if people over the age of 5 - that's the majority of the population last time I checked - was catered for with some home-grown programming in the mornings.
