Oh it was car crash television - RTÉ News style. Glad to see the "nightmare" again, I spent most of the time looking for blank DVDs to tape it! Still, at least he apologised Very Happy

Note that she refers to the "Handicup chase" (sic) during the headline package. It was doomed from the start.

100th page! Time for a reminder of some of the feck-ups we've seen over the past century of online literature... (From Boards)

what is the level of Irish of other RTE newscasters except Aengus and Sharon? (apart from the Irish language news)

Eileen Dunne always does a few links in Irish on St Patrick's Day. When Anne Doyle presented the One O'Clock News in the 90s she never even said "Nuacht", just "News in Irish".

Today's Nuacht (a chur i lathair ag Bridog Ni Bhuachalla) camera closing slide was kinda lopsided and the camera moved distinctly to the left of the screen.

- You can watch the fragment here (0:09)

PS I'm generally a cultural person, but what kind of sonnaw... bad person always sends a closing screen with the mistake in the web address! How many years should pass until RTE will feel the slight difference between http://www.rte.ie/news/nuacht.html and http://www.rte.ie/nuacht.html or http://www.rte.ie/nuacht ?

And that's the One O'Clock News. News in Irish - with Aine Ni Fheine follows the weather line... I'll be back here with Eamon at Six One - to join us there.

Well this probably just comes down to the fact that the bulletin she was reading was in English, and they didn't want to have to two languages in the one bulletin - a valid point for those watching a bulletin in English who can't speak Irish and won't know what it means (and yes, there are some stupid people out there)

Aengus always signs off on the One O'Clck News with "That's all from the newsroom for now, Beidh Siún Nic Gearailt anseo le cinnlinte nuachta in aghaidh na haimsire , but from me for now, Good Afternoon" .

Good evening. The last washout this year:

Eileen Dunne has started to read wrong story from the autocue and later she started to look at her papers
Watch here
And on the end she has wished us all a happy new year. In Irish.

And I would like to wish you a lucky and happy new year too. And do take care.
Good night.

I saw the preview of the 9 on One tonight and I can't believe they're still using the OLD headline bed! What the hell is wrong with them?

On today's Six One Tony O'Donoghue was too fast starting a conversation with Bryan and Sharon after the "bye for now"... or perhaps the microphones were turned off too late... nevermind.

But the main feckup this evening: Just look on the ending screen - a massacre! Nuacht RTE DOG with the web address DOG with the (C) RTE 2007 screen in the background and a strange blue bar over the RTE logo there... no comment.

BTW: On the few online minutes of today's Nuacht RTE the DOG was missing there... perhaps it got back and wanted to be seen at last for a moment today... Very Happy

The broadcast is divided into ordinary Six One presented by Sharon and the special, and the link to the special is in the Road Safety site.
