People say about ratings, but who is going to watch the BBC's coverage on the news channel rather than BBC1? Although of course the wedding dominates the day, there will be an audience for other news that day - but no bulletins to serve them - and they could at least opt out at 2pm once the main part of the coverage is over - or offer the coverage with signing to actually be of true PSB.

Now that's a good idea. If they have to simulcast it on both BBC1 and the BBC News Channel, then signing on the latter would actually justify it and would please a lot of people, too.

Once the service is over, the vast majority of viewers will be no longer interested. Whilst I'm in favour of coverage all day, I think the BBC should bump it to BBC2 once the main part is over. Its an option ITV1 don't have, but they could at least put Loose Women on ITV2 (as they usually do when they're showing The Budget or similar) to provide an alternative, but ITV2 are opting for a "The Only Way Is Essex" day instead where the audience for anyone uninterested will be quite limited.

So it just about makes the corner of the front page of TV Choice (not my choice BTW!) with some irrelevent EastEnders plot dominating the front as usual. Radio Times has a themed cover designed by a reader (though I bet even they were tempted to lead with Doctor Who) - what about the rest? I suspect only TV Times may have gone for it.

You are right, TV Times are the only one with a picture of Will & Kate as the main image. What's On TV have them in the corner, the main picture is relating to EastEnders.

Here's what they've been building opposite Buckingham Palace...
There's a second row of windows behind the scaffolding, underneath the row you can see.

Round the back in Green Park there's marquees and boarded over areas for the broadcasters and their kit, although the other day the only things there were a sat truck, a dish on a trailer and a solitary Fox News flag

I suspect Peter Hunt seems to have got HD and 3D mixed up ?

Jchannon: Will the royal wedding be in HD or just upscaled to BBC One HD?

It won't, as you suggest, be filmed in HD. The broadcasters, particularly SKY News, had wanted to. However, the idea was rejected by the Palace, particularly because the cameras required would be too large.
