The Queen is old but her family live forever almost. She'l be around for another 30 or 40 years just watch and see. More chance of Harry going first. Or Prince and Princess Michael of Kent but then they aren't important anyway.

In 40 years the Queen would be 119 Shocked

As time goes on people live longer and longer. Look what age the queen mother was when she died. By the time the Queen reaches that age, it will be an average age probably and will have to go one better by living a little longer to break royal records!

The average year of death doesn't increase THAT quickly... Rolling Eyes

I remember last time this happened, and there was another load of mass hysteria on here. I admit to being caught up in it, and spotted Alagiah and Kaplinsky's clothing yesterday.

The fact is there is probably something going on.

The only thing is it is probably that the Queen has a cold, and they are sombring up just in case.

On the other hand, since it has happened twice now, perhaps somebody is actually quite ill, and have ups and downs, so on the downs, where it doesn't look so good, a message is sent out to newsrooms to be prepared, just in case.

After the hype last time, which I fully admit to taking my part in, it's evident that this thread is a bit of humour - there's nothing going on. Contributors like w12 and NickyS are the people to listen to.

Surely they don't have to be THAT prepared. If the Queen was ill (or any other senior royal) we would probably be given regular updates anyway. Do they still post information outside the Palace gates when someone is ill.

I bet it didn't take Dermot Murnaghan long to find a dark jacket and black tie when he suddenly had to announce Diana's death on ITV News back in 1997.

Prince Phil isn't well and hasn't been for some time. So maybe someone was expecting a result there??

No they don't. The Queen Mother was replaced many years before her "death" by a creation of the Jim Henson workshop.

It's common knowledge.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy , well they only used to wheel her out of Clarence House once a year, afew Jim Henson animatronics could have got through that easy enough (especially with the scam about the dodgy hip to explain why she couldn't move too well !!!!!!!!!)

Maybe not that much but not far off. Look at the life span of people in the 1940s and 1950s. People died young then.
