"This is Sky News. With Jeremy Thompson and Kay Burley". Ahhhhhhh.

"Welcome to Sky News at Six o'clock."

The lighting / white balance with Kay outside the hospital is dire, thought maybe it was the sun going down but all other channels look fine...

What on earth was going in with the split screen on the NC? Sophie Raworth just appeared from nowhere.

Continuity at 8.30 . . . we took network here in NI. And it was our Annita that announced the news to the nation . . .

Meanwhile ITV continue with Corrie... was there a flash before it started?

Surprised ITV didn't scrap the Corrie ad break for the news.

Certainly not disputing the ability of Annita McVeigh, but a little surprising that the BBC didn't have a top-name anchor standing ready to break the news on BBC One. The press release was issued just seconds before 2030, so presumably it was a very quick decision to break in to BBC One.

The announment was on the strap before the presenter announced it. Thought it was an error at first.
