Well done itv News team, good coverage, worth sticking around, a few laughs too, plenty of info as well. Nice quick closing as well considering no credits.

Surprised that they just crashed out of the One Show like that, without even an ident
If they'd introduced it with an ident they'd have missed them comin out surely.
They could have easily gone a couple of minutes earlier, it was imminent. It's a shame the One Show wasn't the usual live programme tonight in may respects
It was imminent from 7pm though. Since they knew this, the BBC should have gone back to the coverage after the regional news. True about the one show; that could have worked well.
Royal baby news specials: ITV 3.5m/16.5% (9.15pm-10pm, post Corrie), BBC1 2.9m/13.4% (8.30pm-10pm)

I know it's not everyones cup of tea but I'm surprised the ratings were that low.
RT @mediaguardian: Royal baby boosts news channel ratings: BBC News all day Monday share 2.8% (3 month average: 1%), Sky News 1.6% (0.7%).

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK 29m
BBC1's #RoyalBaby coverage began with 2.62m, peaking with 3.39m, falling to 2.53m by 9.50. ITV started with 5.24m, falling to 2.57m by 9.50.
Nice to see ITV come out on top for once - they were right to stick with Corrie then as a lead in. Ratings not too surprising overall - how all the newspapers managed 16 pages of coverage when the news could be summed up in a sentence I don't know.
