rumours abound that North East sport legend Roger Tames is leaving ITV1 Tyne Tees and joining Film Nova as their Head of Sport.

according to the tyne tees website he joined in 1976.

Yes that's the problem, there was a time when Tyne Tees used to produce live football games like the Tyne Tees Match, with Roger Tames doing the presenting, those days have long gone now, well we can wish them well in their new positions.

Thank God. As Roger Tames is responsible for the absolute monstrosity that was 'Cafe Sport', it may well have come too late. Very Happy To be fair to him, he is likeable enough even if he does look like some ventriloquist I've forgotten the name of (Roger Decourcey?)

And as a Newcastle fan, the end of season video commentary is abysmal. Shocked I reckon Tames has a PhD in stating the obvious.

i dont remember 'Cafe Sport' but you can't knock a channel for trying to produce local sports programmes?
