That's some rather strong dislike from Huw there!

Do you think it's possible that he has a sense of humour?

The Times are reporting that Robert Peston will likely leave the BBC for ITV with the promise of a Marr-rival Sunday-morning politics show as well as the pol ed role.

Placing my bets, I'd love to see Kamal Ahmed as economics editor. Duncan Weldon couldn't be ruled out either.

Interested to know what ideas people have about Robert's successor.

Well if it means one less repeat of Jeremy Kyle a week I'm all for it. Must be a good decade or so since ITV ditched Dimbleby.

The slot where it's likely to be scheduled in is Murder She Wrote.

There was a Sunday political show with Andrew Rawnsley and Andrea Catherwood at one point as well - probably ITV's last attempt at a Sunday politics show

That was The Sunday Supplement, that lasted about a year before it was binned off. What didn't help was that it constantly got moved in the schedules, one week it was on at 1pm, the next week it was something stupid 11.15am.

Not technically ITV, but GMTV had a political show called the Sunday Programme.

*The Sunday Edition. It ran from September 2006 until November 2007.

What possessed Andrea Catherwood to leave ITN?! Surely, she must have known that presenting The Sunday Edition wouldn't be a secure job, given that ITV had been in the process of reducing its amount of public service broadcasting over the previous few years.

I hope he uses common sense and does not leave the BBC.

Look at the others who have left BBC for ITV, did not end well, Daybreak for example.

If ITV are going to try and set up their own show at the same time as the BBC, they are not likely to win.

Nick Robinson, Laura Kuenssberg. It's ended well for them. To be honest, I could see Robert eventually ending back up at the BBC in a higher role eventually, if he goes to ITV.
