I've noticed that it says on Erron Gordon's twitter account that he will be the launch director of peston on Sunday:

I'm sure we've had this discussion before. Broadcast print the Current Affairs chart every two weeks, but this week it wasn't on because of Easter. The last time it was in there, for the show of 13th March, it had 1.43 million viewers, a 21.85% share. By comparison Question Time had 2.03m, Panorama had 1.84m, Dispatches had 1.28m and This Week 840k. So it does very well for itself, given it's on at 9am.
What sort of figures does Andrew Marr get? I suspect most peoples exposure to it is through clips in the news bulletins.

For a Sunday at 0900 it rates very healthily. It used to consistently be the most watched of the weekend political shows and out-rate the GMTV equivalent (when they had one), the BBC Politics Show/Daily Politics and ITV's lunchtime political show (when they had one).

That's a little unfair, considering I've actually met a few MPs, and at least the ones I've met so far, tend to be more on the honest side than not.
Yeah, we can easily get cynical about the political system, and with good reason, and we can equally get cynical about political journalism, and again, not without good reason, but I think it's unkind to both Andrew Marr and MPs in general to make that particular comparison.
Even though they were different eras of TV, and from different continents, Brian Walden and Tim Russert are amongst the two best political TV presenters there's ever been, because they stayed objective. Note: that doesn't mean they were absolutely fair to both sides all the time. What it means is they sought out objective, identifiable fact, from the mass of spin and PR guff that has always been a large part of politics. Andrew Marr does about the best job at that out of the current class of political TV presenters in this country.
Andrew Neil is forever slightly compromised for me by his long term association with Rupert Murdoch, but he still manages to do a good job most of the time.
Whether Robert Peston's show will be their standard, never mind approaching the likes of even the Matthew Paris incarnation of Weekend World, is something that only time will tell.
Being the most watched political show though is like being the most honest politician.

Sounds interesting, looks like it will be fluffier than the Andrew Marr show. But does anybody know where it will be broadcast from?
I presume it will be The London studios and not ITN, correct me if I'm wrong.
Robert Peston reveals on BBC Radio 4 his new show Peston on Sunday will air on
Sunday 8th May at 10am.
He says the show will feature social media, book reviews and a bit of humour too.

Perhaps even Studio 7?

I assume ITV hired the editor of This Week for a reason. They'll probably go a bit left-field for a contrast to Marr.
