You know me, I'm not the biggest fan of endless banter, but tonight Jackie Bird was outstandingly fab on the programme. Lots of laughs in a Christmas shopping story (the last on the programme agenda) as well as a nifty new hair do. She really gets the balance right. Years of experience have polished her presentation so much.
I tell you, if we ever got the oft-discussed "Scottish Six", our Jackie would be more than fit for the task.
I do like Jackie but i find RPS boring Scotland Today has a much better feel to it and well i just love Shereen i think Shereen and Jackie would be a great team .
Young David still seems a little stiff, but he's definately better than he was.
Noticed some nice animated over-the-shoulder graphics tonight too - although as they were bullet-pointing what we were being told very clearly they seemed a little redundant.

She has been getting a lot better.... and "older".
As for the Scottish Six is was found that most of Scottish people didn't want one. I personally agree, yet another stupid idea what difference does it make getting the national news at 6 rather than half 6.
Anyway there is one thing I can't stand with RP and it's all this fake backdrop malarky, it's sooo obviously fake it's unreal. I have also noticed the set is looking a little worse for wear in places. Those stripped red/white lights can often be seen unlit or missing parts of the red covering etc.
I know what you mean about David - he is a bit wooden, but getting better. There are also strong rumours in Glasgow that Jackie Bird and David Roberston HATE each other. Can't imagine why. They are both equal professionals I would say.
I recall years ago on Reporting Scotland (in the era where Jackie originally joined), the presenting team were Jackie, Alan Douglas and Eddie Mair. It was very clear that Eddie and Alan detested each other. They would always very deliberately turn their backs to each other at the wrap up and would never engage in the usual banter as the lights go down.
Is Shereen still goings strong then? Anyone able to post a recent updated foto of Shereen on duty? I haven't been able to see either Shereen or Jackie on TV for years.

David Robertson is fab. He makes me laugh. The last time I saw him in person he was sitting in the BBC Scotland canteen eating a Scotch pie.
