Reporting Scotland read out by continuity announcer

Seems as if this morning, the Breakfast bulletins of Reporting Scotland are being read out by the continuity announcer with random Reporting Scotland title screens through the morning.

For the most part they just used the end title screen of Reporting Scotland, until the 8.30 update where they managed to find an animated BBC News Scotland slide.

Unfortunately the news stories the announcer has to hand is significantly shorter than the slot itself, so most of it is filling saying we’ll be back to Salford soon. It’s just being described as due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.

Oh?. and the weather?

Unforeseen circumstances - presumably someone hasn't been able to come in for some reason.

Old fashioned pictureless news read by an announcer. It probably doesn't make much difference to the editorial side bulletins, 'regional' Breakfast bulletins are normally mostly put together the night before and don't tend to have much in the way of important visuals

wonder if it'll be explained at lunchtime?

Is it just me or does that animation look like it's being displayed on a screen that a camera is pointing at, rather than it being a direct feed?

Could be a technical issue then, couldn’t the CA have introduced reports if it was just a problem with the presenter. So it was basically normal just without a presenter in vision.

Laura Miller presented the lunchtime bulletin. Unusual, as it's usually the Breakfast presenter, so maybe it was a case of staffing issues.

I think if it was technical issues they would have said "due to technical issues" rather than the more unusual and very unspecific "unforeseen circumstances".

The usual phrasing north of the border is "circumstances outwith our control".
