Wonder if Rep Scot will adopt a similar studio to MT in the Mailbox. The interior looks very 'open plan' I can't see them walking about though like Kirsty Young did at the birth of 5 News.
Bet Jackie would try and put things on the floor to trip that pesky David up!!
Certainly looks very impressive ! Lets hope they utilise the new building effectively - the atrium looks quite impressive, as does the rooftop, perhaps parts of Rep Scot could come from these areas.
I too have done work experience at BBC Scotland, but I was not at Queen Margaret Drive, so I can't compare the two buildings, but I would imagine it will be very old - fashioned inside.
As a matter of interest, how many studios are there at Queen Margaret Drive. There is the main Rep Scot studio, plus the newsroom set. But what about other BBC Scotland programmes. I notice a lot of the political programmes come from the other newsroom set in Edinburgh, it looks quite good.

The new Rep Scot studio will be quite impressive, or so I heard. It apparently has real windows looking out on to the Clyde, but I believe the newsroom will be incorporated in the new set too.
I notice Jackie and David always have a laugh at the end of RS, but I think they just put it on. Tonight was quite funny - David "I'll be back with RS in the Ten ", Jackie " ... and I won't - goodnight ". Quite cringeworthy, considering David didn't really laugh.

Aww bless the wee sowels.
Bet they hope they'll get an award for the best sexual chemistry in regional TV news.
Edinburgh's new high tech base is near the parliament. Politics Scotland, Holyrood Live are all there...so i'm told.
I wonder what all the cuts mean for these sorts of show. Could Newsnight Scotland etc be scaled down even more??
I am sad...as it has matured so well. I will wait and see!!
I quite like Newsnight Scotland, but I have never been too keen on missing the last 20 minutes of the main London programme. Would it not have been possible to opt out fo the main network, and broadcast it at 11.20pm ?
Notice the two David's on RS tonight - is this the first all male pairing since Asad Ahmad ?
David Robertson seemed to be asserting himself as the Alpha Male in the studio, I'd say..
Other than Rob Mathieson, are there any other male presenters for RS these days?
The only two male presenters that are also Journalists are David Henderson and David Robertson, who were on tonight. Rob Matheson is actually a continuity announcer, so we only see him occasionally on the short bulletins. There is another man who has done the short bulletins in the past few months, but I don't know his name, he isn't a reporter, so he may be continuity announcer too ? Asad Ahmad, who is now at BBC London, used to be on RS for a few years.
BBC Scotland has a lot more female anchors on RS - Jackie Bird, Sally Magnusson, Sally McNair, Fiona Henderson, Penny McMillan, Abeer Macintyre and Gillian Millar.
BBC Scotland must really get its act together with regards to news output. Rep Scot is outdated...Newsnight Scotland is a bad compromise, and an abuse of talented journalists like Annie and Gordon, who can do better in programmes that are NOT half budget.
With all the cuts on the go - I wonder what will happen. I think their will be worse before there is better
It completely annoys me utterly lots that BBC Scotland cut out the beginning of the network news titles so regularly and so badly, I think they especially do it badly out of spite on the SIX cos they didn't get the 'scottish six'
I think we would all agree the programme could do with improving but I wouldn't go as far as to suggest deliberate un-professionalism on such a level.
