New weather presenter on this morning...first one to replace the three that are pregnant - Stavros Danaos.

Danaos started on Monday - today was his third outing.

Seems quite capable, but he keeps referring to the central belt as the "south" - and its really not recognised as that by Scottish folks. Maybe Judith Tonner will ring him from the maternity ward and put him right.

EDIT - ooh yes, she's Judith Ralston now.

Stavros (or Stav) has done BBC local radio weather forecasts in the past. Not seen him do a TV one before.

Whatsherchops did call him Stav when she linked to him.

What happened to Peter Sloss that did the weather frequently a couple of years ago?

Dunno, but I never warmed to him. I'm sure he's a lovely chap, mind you.

I assume that's him on the right hand side of that foto? He looks a bit like Tiger Tim at first glance.
