I had the dis-pleasure of catching the main 6.30 show, it still dreadful, poor, lacking any life.

Even the change to 1 person has not helped.

I'm finding it hard to argue with this: http://www.allmediascotland.com/articles/4406/05082009/alex_bell_rememberspart_three

I was just looking on Youtube for Reporting Scotland videos and found this:

Has Reporting Scotland changed its title music since the 2008 rebrand, or is this someone's mock? It's slightly different with less beacon sounds and more pips.

The version that appeared on David Lowe's site for a few days was the version before all the nations themes were re-worked to include more pips and less 'beacons'. Same went for Wales and NI.

I see. I knew Wales Today had the beginning slightly changed but I didn't know Reporting Scotland did too. Strange seen as I though the original 2008 idea was better. Thanks for the info.

Watching that opening clip above doesn't inspire confidence - is that "news" the best that BBC Scotland can do of an evening? It's almost spoof-like.

Usually I'm more guilty than most of saying "they all look the same to me" in the case of women; but I don't see it here - unless being brunette and pretty is the "Marquis measure".

There's nowt wrong with Reporting Scotland (although some may come along any minute with well worn phrases like, "box ticking").

Presentationally I think its pretty reasonable. Don't know what part of it makes you think its a spoof.

The James Cook wildlife intro just had "spoof" written all over it. (Nice to see him filing a report here on BBC World News the other day - can't remember what the report was about, but I specifically remember telling myself that it was nice to see James on screen over here - and not a beaver in sight, which is just the way I like it to be!)

Ah, now I remember - it was a piece about the Lockerbie bomber. I think James did a two-way with Nisha Pillai.

Laughing

James has an awkwardness about him, but I think he's really good.

Yes, he is really good. I have always liked his reporting style. Genuine, somehow.

So what is David Robertson doing now? Anyone got any idea?
