However BBC LDN was originally going to be called "London Live" in line with the radio station, and did have a flying map sequence produced - but it was scrapped when the plans were changed and the LDN device brought in Wink

That London Live sequence was made available on here, so someone might be able to re-upload it. It was quite nice I seem to remember!

It was Asa's old TV Home site, here it is for those that have never seen it:

It is rather nice- not as good as the original LDN look however!

Hello kitt, no offence and all joking aside, please can you use the BBC LDN thread for all things to do with BBC LDN. LDN's broadcasts have no relevance to BBC Reporting Scotland. Thanks Wink

So More Blue, and another map...

How do you imagine the set may change to match the new look?

I aint sure if the set will change that much Martin. If the stills from the nationals are anything to go by the current Rep. Scot. set fits the bill. I may be wrong but is this the only set to mirror the national set?

While I cannot say I am dancing about with what I have seen, it is a much needed change for Reporting Scotland's look.

Not sure if this should be on a different thread, but thought this was most appropriate.
I have noticed that when BBC Scotland opt out for the “regional” bulletin. So far I have spotted this tread….

David Robertson: Red background, BBC NEWS Scotland signage with a 50” type size plasma screen – medium close up.

Jackie Bird: Extreme close-up, river shot in the background.

Sally Magnason: River shot background, medium close-up

Anybody have any idea what this is all about? I am guessing it maybe about different studios, maybe newsnight Scotland pre-recording interviews or something like that?

It bugs the life out me!!

Last night's evening bulletin was Sally McNair ( I think! ) and was an extreme close up with a CSO background. I presumed this was because of the " amendments " to the studio etc for Monday.

I had assumed that they had launched with the (very cheap and nasty looking) red flat + plasma backdrop for their second set - which I believe is in the newsroom? - (used when the main studio is required for other shows - or for when staffing levels are lower?) but that they had re-engineered that space to allow for CSO as the original set looked a bit shoddy?

(Or do they shoot some bulletins in the main studio with just a projector backdrop that looks like a CSO?)

The bulletins during Breakfast all come from the main studio, as does the Sunday bulletin. The bulletins after the Ten O'Clock news and Saturday bulletin come from a set in the newsroom. With the female presenters a very tight shot on the plasma that has the red surround is possible to block out the awful red. That isn't possible for male presenters so some of the surround is shown.
The staffing levels for all these bulletins are the same it's just the access to the main studio that dictates where the bulletins are presented from.

As noggin was mentioning - is there work going on to have a CSO space in the newsroom so the cheap an nasty red things is ditched?

It still amazes me that a purpose built complex for BBC Scotland did not have a more suitable setup put in from day one for bulletins when the main studio is in use. It's not as if the Newsnight Scotland opt is new.

It amazes me too.

Two seconds in to tonight's bulletin and already they've got a wrong caption up while the presenter was reading the news. These mistakes with captions and reports seem to be happening more and more often.

They also seem to have got worse since the move to Pacific Quay. I hope things will improve from tomorrow...

I would not hold your breathe Andrew - sadly, I think it will get worse before better!
