I'm pretty convinced I've seen what Pacific Quay's planned new titles were. It's a very short clip as part of a news promo which rarely ran. The last few frames show what looks like a blue globe with a clock. May just have been for that promo but I reckon otherwise!
Would have been nice to hear what it sounded like, but then we prob won't get the chance now...
Well that explains why BBC North West got new titles but Scotland did not: Glasgow commissioned a whole new music package outside of the BBC brand! No oned they were not allowed to use it - wasting tv taxpayers money in the process
Chances are it was never actually produced, as Rep Scotland would have known about what they're due to be using in the coming weeks...
Why on earth don't they have a proper weather map at the weekend? The " big words " shouting " SCATTERED SHOWERS " or whatvever the weather will be, is like a throwback to the 1970s / 80s. Surely with all the people in the BBC Weather Centre / Met Office producing broadcasts, they could at least produce some sort of weather sequence for BBC Scotland for the weekend?
I know they broadcast the programme about however many years of news in Scotland last year, but does anyone know if there are any plans to celebrate 40 years of Reporting Scotland?
Trails aside, there was disappointingly little of old title sequences and sets on the previous programme...
They could also celebrate 100 years of the opening titles ( or does it just feel like that? )

Back in 1979 Did there not use the part of the mccarthy park song song?

If that's a Donna Summer song then yes. An in 1982 they started using the Emerson Lake and Palmer version of Fanfare for the Common Man. This was the first time they used the three " parallelograms " to represent Scotland.

Funny you should mention parallelograms...
I miss them wish they could be used for any revamp - but if a uniform look is pencilled in for the nations and regions we will not be getting anything like that.
I guess we do not have long to wait for Reporting Scotland to be rebranded - about time too!!!

Well that's what I was hinting at - they were in the look-that-never-was, but I spose with any sort of generic style coming they won't be getting a look in

Yes monkey - a shame but inevitable
I don't miss the paralellograms. They were an eighties design idea that BBC Scotland used across the board until the noughties. Almost like using the same nineties theme tune for a decade. Unthinkable!
Maybe they could adopt a new pop-type theme. A Moment Like This?
Is there anywhere on the web that has the Reporting Scotland theme tunes from over the years. There is one that I remember from the early to mid eighties that was quite catchy but can't seem to find it anywhere. (May have been Scotland Today?)
