Well how does newsnight look in the PQ studio? I'm having trouble seeing the online feed of Newsnight Scotland.
the same as london, except with the video walls being blue at either side.

So pretty much the same as before?

I think you'll find they're purple Razz

Wait. So is it just how it was before, with purple colour gels where the red is in the normal set for RS, and those faded projectors, or is it like TC7? When did NS move to Pacific Quay?

It moved a fortnight ago, with a set layout similar to TC7, but not as wide. It is powered by back projectors, but much higher spec ones than in the old studio.

I finally found a cap:

It's quite nice. It would be better if the lighting at the top was more even though.

Edit:
The image was far too large, so I provided a link.

I'm pretty sure that the NS set is the RS set, because I was playing around in Photoshop using the dodge tool on the image, and the desk is really one of the light up desks ala Nationals, but is turned off for NS. It's red, like the Current set, but the top of it is a bit clunky compared to the current desk. I hope the desk in the NS is temp, because the current desk is better.

Yes it's temporary (an old NS desk!). The proper desk will move with RS.

With other regions like BBC North West looking to revamp their programmes in September, I wonder if Reporting Scotland will not change that much until then??

Even if they move to PQ before then they may use the same graphics and titles etc. until the other regions change??

It has been reported that all the regions will have a new look at the end of this year, so Reporting Scotland may change then? This would be similar to the 1999 changes.

There should be some different views of the new studio and newsroom in the report on Scottish broadcasting on tonight's Newsnight Scotland. Wink

I think we are seeing the newsroom sooner than the NS team planned lol...

The interior of PQ looks very nice though!!!

I think that the executive need to be careful in messing with this. Keith Brown seems to be using the local content arguement with editorial discretion etc. However, what about the resources?? George Kerrivan raises the licence fee question with GB jumping down his throat about it being value for money etc.

Good comments about the decent talent being in London though -mmmm....Miss MacKenzie are you watching this??

Odd wideshot of the two interviewees though - George seems to be looking too thin!!

BTW - Jim McLaren are you still there??
