this I can understand, however after he was TOLD the date he then asked again and again and then quoted the post that said "6th of august" and claimed it said "early august".

Indeed, I'm not defending him on that part. However "Anne MacKenzie Fan" was having a go at him for explaing his confusion regarding the date. Though (and I'm probably looking into it too much here) may he not have been asking; on what date was the date 6th August originally stated as being the date the change would happen?

Needless to say it's all rather confusing for him and us.

Well thanks for clearing it up - I feel much more informed now Laughing Laughing
Usually a calendar or diary or even a computer is a good place to check when a date is! I should say that usually Reporting Scotland is on at around 13.30, 18.30 and 10.25 every weekday and there are numeous bulletins during the morning and afternoon. Reporting Scotland is found on BBC One Scotland - usually channel 1 (in Scotland) and 971 (Sky) not sure what one it is on for Virgin though - sorry!
I hope this helps you Ashley B and 623058. Forgive me if I am not being detailed enough. Wink

Yes. A few candidates spring to mind. Some of them have been involved in news programmes before:

1) Brenda Paterson
2) Shereen Nanjiani
3) Andrea Brymer
4) Stephen Jardine
5) Anne MacKenzie

I think any of the above would work well in bringing their extensive experience into RS.

Whats happened to Brenda Paterson?

"I noticed that Jane Lewis did a report on Reporting Scotlands sports desk through the week".

WOW! Really? Will it still be available by any weblink Dan? I'd love to see it, if it were possible? Surprised I still miss Jane Lewis even to this day and I've heard her do the odd occasional report for Sky Sports News.

Brenda Paterson was working for News 24 for a while - I am not sure what she is doing now though.

As for Shereen, well I cannot see them putting her in front of the camera now - they had a chance when she switched and nothing happened.

Andrea would be an option age wise but she is now rooted in Aberdeenshire.

Stephen Jardine would not get a look in thanks to the dominance of Mr Robertson.

I cannot see Anne MacKenzie ever going back to Reporting Scotland. I think that if Newsnight Scotland ever got the boot from schedules she would either do something for Radio 4 or just jack it in completely.

I would say the following have a good chance at being the future of Reporting Scotland

1 - Glenn Campbell (the BBC Scotland golden guy and someone I like)
2 - David Henderson (the rather dull one yes)
3 - Katrina Shearer (who does the weekly webcast and someone I like)
4 - Sarah Mack (Landward former North Tonight presenter)
5 - Kirsten Campbell (political reporter and someone I like)
6 - Cameron Buttle (Borders reporter and someone I like)

If anyone moves from stv land it will be the likes of Vicki Lee, Debbie Edward or perhaps Heather Simpson.

A wee bit embarrasing for Jackie on Reporting Scotland tonight, she was featured in the footage of The Ten's lead story on the faking of telephone hotlines during Scotland's Children in Need show in 2005.
I did notice that the reporter on the piece was very clareful to include the line "unbeknown to the presenters....."
I wonder how all these instances have somehow come to light. Do you reckon the BBC requested all producers to 'own up or else' ie. 'we are going to ask for whistle blowers, it'll be better if you just tell us now'?

I felt for Jackie tonight...there is no way on earth she would have been aware of this, and I hope she gives the person/people responsible a Glasgow Kiss! She behaved like the true professional as per usual. Good on you Jackie!!!

Thanks for the tip Hermes.
Just watching it and it seems rather odd...will the old desk move to Pacific Quay to match the Newsnight and nationals look? I also see that Glenn Campbell has joined Newsnight Scotland - has he replaced Anne Mackenzie on this as well, or is she merely on holiday?

Yes it matchels the nationals...
considerabely smaller though - either that or the desk area is bigger. And why not contiue the newsnight graphics right round the newswall?
Alas, what a disappointment.

So, what s going to happen to the set that was introduced not that long ago? Bit of a waste, wasn't it?
