Having looked at the various opening titles of the English regional news programmes on BBC One, I hope they go for the same format with places / people appearing in them. ( Unless the BBC English regions get round to updating there titles again before we get a new set in Scotland ).

I don't know why they can't just use the newsroom for all the short bulletins. I think they were still using the newsroom set when the new look was introduced a few weeks ago because the image of Pacific Quay was static and you could hear the newsroom in the background. I take it the short bulletins now come from CSO in the RS studio?

No. it's a mini set that's been built in the Newsroom. And only the screen is CSO, rest is real. It backs on to the window to the left of where the old desk was IIRC.

I caught the opening tonight and they seemed to have return to the short " sting " titles rather than they full " rolling place names " opener. Was this a one off or are they back to the sting opening again?

I did love the newsroom set. What is the reasoning behind replacing it? Is there going to be too much upheaval in the newsroom behind while they prepare to move and they want to hide that?

I noticed on Friday night the " long version " of the opening titles are back with the scrolling names of the five main cities+ once again featuring. Still looking forward to some new titles hopefully in the future! Rolling Eyes

All will be revealed in July, from the BBC's first HD-capable news studio... Wink

So you clearly know something about the re-launch! I understand you can't divulge much but give us some info! Are we getting a window overlooking Glasgow? My money is being bet on the re-launch being pretty rubbish and Reporting Scotland continuing to be a not-so great news programme!

Going on the basis that pretty much everything in that building will be brand new, I hope it'll not be rubbish...

None of the studios at Pacific Quay will have (real) windows on the world.

I am sure it will look brand new but wonder if the programme itself will change. Are there any plans to have localised opt outs ala stv?
