I must ask this, does anyone actually watch Reporting Scotland?
the only reason how I know there was a set change was when I saw one of the "daytime bulletins"

what there to move ? square box kept to together with glue

A thousand staff members, two national radio stations, two television networks, all of which will be using new technology and can't have interruptions to programming. It's probably the largest move in recent BBC's history (bigger than the Mailbox move), so it won't happen in a couple of weeks.

.......plus a few crates of Hair Spray labelled "Robertson"...........

Well it seems that only the desk and chairs are the big change. I wonder if they'll stick with the same titles when they move to Pacific Quay...they may as well Laughing
Have the astons changed at all then?

The desk and chairs have changed, and the set has been re-lit. It's a short-term set, as far as I know there will be a complete re-vamp at Pacific Quay. IMO it's an improvement on the standing and fake newsroom.

Have to agree...brings it more into line with the national set, comapred to the previous one.

If it stops David Robertson flapping his hands to make a point the desk will be well worth it.

I too think it's about time the titles were updated...and they should just move to BBC News red instead of sticking with blue

Still no sign of Mary Marquis???

If Mary Marquis came back it might be worth watching. Sally Magnusson is the only decent journalist / presenter there.

Agreed - Jakcie and David have far too much of an ego and the rest are either too inexperienced or under-utilised

Personally, I think that they are not wanting to try new talent, as Penny MacMillan and David Henderson are (IMO) not that hot.
Off the young blood, Kirsten Campbell and Glenn Campbell are about the best you can get.
Sally, Jackie and David are tried and tested. If Shereen was ten years younger she would have been placed in front of the cameras, and could have injected some new life to the show?

I was at a " It's Your BBC " meeting a few years ago ( in Dundee ) and it was clear that Jackie wasn't that popular.

Whereas, on the other hand, Mary Marquis was immensely popular during her reign as the Queen of Queen Margaret Drive.........bring her back and inject a bit of "class" into Reporting Scotland.

A few other former presenters and correspondents/STV retirees may well breathe some life into what appears to be a tired format.........

Alan Douglas
Viv Lumsden
Louise Tait
Louise Welsh
Kirsty Wark
Cathy MacDonald
Harry Smith
Nicholas Cowie
Malcolm Wilson
Abeer Parkes (McIntyre now)
Fiona Henderson
Brenda Paterson
John McKay
Alan Caldwell
Hazel Irvine
John Milne
Louise Batchelor
Paddy Christie
Jon Nicolson
And.....of course, Mary Marquis..........and Shereen.........

Thanks! Couldn't remember Malcolm Wilson's name. I wonder if they'll have a special 40th birthday programme in 2008...? Does anyone remember or know what happened to Gordon Hewitt who was a sports presenter?

Jings. Forgot about Gordon Hewitt, who was replaced by Dougie Donnelly eventually. Also: George Hume (RIP), Neil Mudie, Alan McKay are/were other RS stalwarts. Are any of them still on the programme today?
