Although it's happened to the best of them at some point or another ...

True, but having an out of the blue coughing fit is different to sounding like you have the flu for hours on end Razz

Radio presenters have a “cough button”. Why don’t newsreaders have something similar?

Cough buttons for radio presenters are far from commonplace. I've been in many radio studios, both BBC and ILR, and I've only ever seen a cough button once, which was at Radio Aire in Leeds, and that was about 20 years ago.

Impact being simulcast on NC instead of News at One, with Maryam Moshiri in C and Lyse Doucet in Watford - even with the usual BSL interpreter!

Impact currently airing on the News Channel for no obvious reason (BBC News at One going out on BBC One as normal).

I’m guessing Impact and Lyse will go open ended with some aspects of the NATO conference at some point, which won’t work within the fixed boundaries of News at One? Only a guess. There may be a big presser imminent at the break.

An interview with Chancellor Merkel and POTUS.

Or at the same time the leader of NATO’s presser,

And now covering both.

There was a video a few weeks ago of Scott Mills and Chris Stark entering a radio 5 live studio for the first time. I can’t find the link now. They feature the Cough Cut button as part of it.

I wonder why BBC News Channel isn't simulcasting World News Today at 7pm if the debate is at 8:30? from BBC Four

Also Outside Source will be replaced by WNT from 22 December until 06 January

Why would the NC show extra filler earlier in the evening just because there is a debate later in the evening removing the need for filler at that point?
As you have been told on several occasions WNT is only broadcast on the NC as a cost saving measure and if the budget was there would never be on the channel as it is a lower quality bulletin focused on areas that the majority of the UK audience don't really care about at the expense of UK news.

Lower quality is probably unfair, lower relevance is probably closer

In this piece around 8:50 a satellite truck with a ENG mast was shown. Are the ENG/mast trucks still used in the UK or have you all gone to SNG or CNG?
