The BBC News at 5 is in Studio D tonight, some timings issues have occurred with the graphics, and the flipper is still having issues.

Presumably the end of hour weather will be a lengthy out of studio affair in order to give London time to prepare for and rehearse their opt in the six headlines.

Or they do it from a chroma-key studio?

Looks like the timings on the automation templates have gone out of sync.

Seems to happen quite often.

Or London move to A which is their alternate studio.

They are Q Balls which do have optical zoom, watching the above link the picture quality looks fairly usual to me for the HoC, I think its just when its interspersed with HD shots it shows off just how bad it is.

Can’t the conservative government afford hd cameras or is it they think we don’t want to see the brexit debate in all its glory in HD?

You can't upgrade any facility to that sort of level overnight, it takes time and planning. Work has to be done during recesses etc. How would you plan such an upgrade, install, test, commission, accept etc against the shambolic activity in the houses over the last year, and no one other than a fool would have ripped out the present cameras the day after the Sept 9 prorogation (which of course wasn't)

I imagine that HD cameras are quite low down on the priority list for the Conservative Government at the moment.

Aside from its (probably) not up to the government of the day to decide what gets seen in HD or not in the chambers, the upcoming restoration programme is probably the ideal time to upgrade the cameras and the facilities since the entire lot can be done in one go:

Could do the main work to the building since I suspect the cameras would have to come down anyway and then replace them with (probably smaller) ones that may be HD capable. Any time you see them on the coverage they are hulking great things compared to those smaller ones behind the speaker's chair.

Do we really want to see MPs in HD?
