I doubt it, but maybe Katty Kay & Philippa Thomas are doing a special '9pm hour' they are both coming on air soon... Thomas a former North America Correspendent

Is this an RGB News Special?

What time does it begin?

Guessing with JF saying 9pm hour I would guess it is 2000GMT

Was this UK only? I know she had star power but I was amazed as how BBC World News even a day later was devoting a significant portion of a half hour to her death.

I wasn't saying it was happening but had very insightful analysis from Philippa and Katty

They've got a problem on BBC News that became apparent on air at 4am. Now still playing the last hour with the caption "RECORDED".
Now back live 4.30am.

Blooper on the 4pm intro. Started a bit early and caught Tim congratulating someone and wishing them a good journey! 😜

Handled it like a pro though!

Why - who'd decide to watch that even six hours later?

A little nugget of info that I hadn't realised - the reason why we haven't seen Studio A on air in recent times is that some of the Studio E gallery team have been displaced into Gallery A for social distancing reasons

Yes, though the primary reason A isn’t being used is to limit the number of people having to come into the building. The schedule has been designed so that the two News channels (plus BBC London) can be maintained, separately where possible, using the minimum Number of galleries and studios. It was because galley A was empty that autocue control was moved there, rather than A not being used because autocue for E was in there.

Speaking of that why does E require a camera operator? I know in C they’re all encoded in Mozart (assume it’s the same in E) and there’s a panel near the director.

For the bigger programmes they tend to run things more manually.
