Much like N9 at TV Centre I guess. Available at short notice for unexpected events, cover for planned maintenance elsewhere and event programming that needs significant rehearsal.
BBC One running late yet again. News at nearly one and half minutes past ten - disgraceful(!).
It's a Bank Holiday so sort of expected but it's even creeping into weeknights (but we should give the BBC some leeway under the current circumstances - they are doing their best to keep half decent programmes in the schedules and can't always guarantee they will finish in time for the news). I'm just hoping the return of EastEnders next week will mean the news can run on time again.
Could probably have gotten away with re-playing the evening news anyway. Same four headlines been running on the news channel since 9am and all the network programmes have almost had the exact same content. The headline sequences were not changed at all during the day - having the same women saying about people not wearing masks.
Slow news day? Kids are back at school soon, Sturgeon says there's a need for worry, Trump and Biden is heating.

Indeed. The only difference between the lunchtime news and this late bulletin is the change of presenter.
