I think that Politics Live is returning four days rather than five if I read the press release correctly?

Is it still BBC2 only? Baffles me in these days of cost cutting they don't simulcast it on the News Channel, especially as they always show PMQs anyway. That would leave them requiring one presenter rather than two in the mornings.

Also is Newsnight staying in E and therefore at 10.45pm?

Might be a bit awkward if there's breaking news in the mornings which is not political related?

Newsnight is still scheduled at 10:45pm so imagine it will stay in E.

I don't understand why when Victoria Derbyshire was a going concern, there were endless posts about why it shouldn't be on the news channel because it wasn't a "proper" news programme and specialised in social affairs (even though it regularly covered breaking news), in a prime slot, and yet at the same time, suggesting Politics Live, which actually does only cover a single subject and doesn't cover breaking news in any specific way, should be on the news channel in a prime slot. There's certainly more to it than PMQs.

Surely a news channel can afford to give an hour a day over to politics, especially as arguably the news agenda is more political than ever. It may not be what we want but in the circumstances makes sense, especially if it freed up the budget for less simulcasting of BBC World in the evening.

It also airs in the hour before a full bulletin, unlike VD which initially took a large portion of the morning slot and in the mind of critics delayed rolling news until 11am.

Yes, opted out for a few minutes for some UK news and now back to World.
I guess this is a sign of how things will continue in the future.

They are going over the top on the coverage of the BLM march in Washington.
But it's OK, as Sky are still covering UK news for viewers here. 🙄

Which looked like they'd been whipped up in 30 seconds by somebody who's just learnt about the animation feature on Powerpoint.
