Why is the dark background used in London when the newsroom background is used on the papers which is on after it. Is it just to emphasise it’s coming from London?
Good to see Christian demonstrating his special party trick of reading the autocue with his eyes closed.

I think it’s just a matter of graphic templates - The Papers usually comes from studio E so its Vizrt template (along with other studio E programmes like Dateline London, NC bulletins...) have its background set as the newsroom background. This allows in cases like if they have to decamp to another studio, they can load the graphics template instantly(via the director’s touchscreen panel?) without setting up from scratch.

Anyone have any details on which regions got these upgrades as I was thinking they were still planning on a VILOR type service for TV. I imagine the equipments cheap as it can act as a studio in a box and could be repurposed for turning a regular sat truck into a production truck.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like this set doesn't feel like much more than Studio N6 with thinner lightboxes and newsroom windows added to the sides, with an uglier backdrop on the main screens. The main difference being that instead of a desk + desk tray, you have a strangely placed desk and, is that a sofa or chairs.. can't tell

It’s definitely not.
Notice Jen’s position. Finally, a live working newsroom in shot. Wales Today have finally installed computers inside the desk.
The studio they currently use in Llandaff is so filthy and rundown. It was outdated at launch IMO. They didn’t spend too much on it clearly as the move to Central Swuare was already in the pipeline.
Wales will finally get its news in HD.

The Papers did not get a programme name strap for a long time until about 2 months later… The NC/World evening simulcasts are with a World intro and a newsroom background, I guess that’s because they want to make Studio C similar to Studio E…
