I wonder if at some point we will see a full NC hour at 8pm return. Before the pandemic only 1 hour of outside source was simulcast so hopefully we can return to that at some point.

Much rather the 7pm hour was NC only and then have a 2 hours programme from 8-10pm with Christian and Katty and have Ros Atkins report from where the big stories are happening.

That doesn't sound likely, Katty would be on for 2.5 hours if she continues doing WNA like now and not cost effective.

I wonder if on Friday Nancy or whoever will do the full three hours like pre Coronavirus. This would have been the regular Friday shift of World News Today

Would be more likely the current Covid set up would continue on Fridays with it being 1600-2000 then 2000-0100. Otherwise the latter would be on air for up to 6 hours. And that wouldn’t be fair for anyone on a Friday night.

On weekends world shifts are six hours, Nancy’s shift on Saturday are six hours and Adnan normally did a 01-06 shift on Sunday Monday

(I apologise for constantly deleting posts however I keep forgetting certain things every time I post)

Will anyone be able to help me out on the following questions:

A. Now that WNA is done from its new studio, does there require a back-up presenter in Studio C still?

B. Does the news channel still need to take WNA if the Ten is starting late as it has done during the pandemic or will it be able to go its separate ways now that they have both the late presenter and Christian on standby?

Before COVID, while WNA could be presented from studio c, it very rarely was. A standby presenter wasn’t normally scheduled in London (though if needs be I’m sure one could be found). This changed when Katty was presenting from her basement because the line was occasionally flaky. The lines from the Washington studio are far more resilient, and indeed there is a backup line as well as a main.

So are we expecting to see the return of Newsroom Live, Afternoon Live and the BBC News at 5 from the 1 September? I really hope we do. It just shows how some basic and simple presentation changes can give the channel at least some energy. Also, will the 5 go back to studio C?

The other question is what the former BBC News at 9 and the 10am Derbyshire slot will be called? It can't be called Morning Live as it's not suitable for a World audience.

There also hasn't been any news on which hours are staying simulcast with World News. We've heard rumblings of 'the morning and evening' but no firm times.

BBC News kind of feels in a bit of a stasis situation at the moment. I'm surprised there's not been anything leaked on Twitter or any further announcements made about what's happening going forward.

Unless they do the Five from A or E, no. I doubt the Five will return.

All the other questions - we've heard nothing yet. We will just have to wait and see.
